Product Details

Demantoid Garnet Labret Stud is the rarest and most valuable garnet. This gemstone labret stud will sit flat against your helix piercing. The flat back ensures maximum comfort for the wearer.

BMG Newest Gemstone

The brilliant demantoid garnet. Brilliant, as literally it is the most brilliant gemstone that has ever been found, meaning it has exceptional fire.

The proof:

The dispersion of white light into the spectrum is the highest of all gemstones ever found even more than a diamond. The dispersion rating for a demantoid is 0.57 where as a diamond is 0.44 making it “the most brilliant gemstone in the world today” In fact the name demantoid means “diamond type lustre”

This stone has been little know except by collectors and connoisseurs who claim it will continue to glow even in the shade.

Discovered in 1853 in the Ural mountains of Russia just 20 years after the discovery of Alexandrite in the same area. Then a huge find in Namibia South Africa in 1996 has made the stone more available in recent times. The Russian stones are valued higher and have distinctive horsetail inclusions which have not been found in the Namibian stones.

The stones we have for you today are untreated VS clarity diamond cut stones and are likely to originate from The Green Dragon Mine as this is the largest and only commercial mine still left today.

The refractive index of this stone is 1.880 to 1.889 this is extremely high and coupled with its dispersion rating gives it a wonderful luminosity making this stone one of the most beautiful and precious gemstones in the world today.

Top Russian Jeweller Carl Fabergé loved this stone and used the stone in many of his masterpieces.

At present we have only a few of these stones and a limited supply chain. They are 2.65mm round. VS clarity with a good young olive colour incorporating shimmering overtones of reds, yellows, luminous greens and blues.

We have a choice of metals for this labret stud including white, yellow and rose gold and also platinum. This will sit perfectly in any top ear piercing.

Measuring An Existing Ring

To get the size of your ring, measure from the inside edge across at the widest point.

With a ring it’s down to personal preference, some like big, some like small, some say that size is not important. However don’t go too small as this may constrict your pierce. We recommend size 10mm (USA 0.4") or 12mm (USA 0.47") for most navels.

Nipples can vary immensely so use your common sense. You can always buy steel as this is a very cheap way to find out what size you are comfortable with.

Buying As A Gift

If you are buying as a gift and have not managed to discreetly measure or find the recipients correct size don’t worry, order a 12mm or USA 1/2". If it is too long you can then just post it back to us via national or international recorded delivery, for shortening to any length.

Remember it is not easy and is more expensive to have the shaft extended. For hygiene reasons we are unable to exchange or refund any bar once removed from the view bag, unless they are faulty.
